Most modules in PEARS allow users to tag other staff as collaborators. The collaborators feature can be used to grant view/edit permissions for specific records and to give credit to other staff members involved in the work described. When adding collaborators, users have the option to mark the collaborator as a contributor. The following article describes how to mark a collaborator as a contributor and which parts of PEARS are affected when a user is marked as a contributor.
Mark a Collaborator as a Contributor
Optionally, specify if other users were involved the work reported in a PEARS record.
- To mark a user as a contributor, first add a new collaborator or edit an existing collaborator.
- The Collaborator window appears. Click the checkbox to indicate that the user was involved in performing the work described in this record.
- Complete other fields, as needed, and click Save.
- The collaborators is now listed as a contributor.
Contributor Impacts in PEARS
The “Contributor” checkbox affects the following parts of PEARS:
Both SNAP-Ed and Extension:
- Collaborators list
If the was this user involved…? box is checked, then the collaborator will be listed as a contributor. - Homepage
If the collaborator is marked as a “Contributor,” the record is included in:
– the Overview panel on the collaborator’s homepage
– the list of Unfinished Items on the collaborator’s homepage
Extension Only:
- Action Plan Outcomes
When creating an Action Plan Outcome, the Action Plans listed in the Plan field include plans the current user has created and plans in which the current user is tagged as a contributor. - Performance Reviews
If the collaborator is marked as a “Contributor,” the record is included in:
– the Supporting Data drop-down lists in the collaborator’s performance review
