Board Member Reviews
Learn how board members complete their performance review assessments in PEARS, including completing the survey and reviewing staff data.
This article walks through the steps for board members to complete their performance review assessments in PEARS. Board member reviews are an optional stage of the review cycle, enabled when the review plan's Include board members for this plan? field is set to Yes. During the board member window, board members complete a survey for each assigned staff member.
Navigate to Performance Reviews
Board members do not sign in to PEARS. Open the email titled Feedback for Extension Staff Performance Reviews and click Go to Performance Reviews. The link opens the Board Member Performance Reviews list, which shows the staff members assigned to you for review along with the review window's start date and deadline.
Review User Information and Supporting Data
Review the staff member's information and any supporting data included in the review. Depending on the review plan configuration, this may include records from PEARS modules such as action plans, development plans, program activities, quarterly efforts, and success stories. Use this context to inform your evaluation.
Complete the Board Member Survey
Click Enter Review in the Progress panel to open the board member survey, then answer each question. The survey was selected by your administrator when creating the review plan. All required questions must be answered before you can submit. Click Save and Continue when you are finished.
Submit the Board Member Review
On the Mark as Complete page, click Mark as Complete to finalize the board member review for this staff member. The Completed column in your list of reviews changes from No to Yes. A completed review can no longer be edited.
Repeat this process for each staff member assigned to you.
Review Statuses
The Completed column in your list of reviews shows one of the following values for each staff member:
No — The board member has not yet marked the review as complete.
Yes — The board member has marked the review as complete.
Opted Out — The board member has chosen not to participate in the review for this staff member.
