# Export

Export indirect activity data from PEARS as an Excel workbook.

The Indirect Activities export generates an Excel (.xlsx) workbook containing data from your indirect activities. The export includes activity details, intervention channels, collaborators, and partners across multiple worksheets.

## Getting Started

To export indirect activities, navigate to the Indirect Activities list under the **Engage** menu and click the **Export** button. The export includes all indirect activities matching your current filters.

The arrow next to the **Export** button opens a menu of additional options. If your account has permission to export uploads, that menu includes **Export with Uploads**, which delivers the workbook together with an archive of the files attached to the exported records.

**TIP:** Apply filters before exporting to limit the results to a specific reporting period, program area, or completion status. Exports of more than 20,000 records, and every **Export with Uploads**, are processed in the background and you will receive an email when the file is ready to download.

## Workbook Structure

The export workbook contains the following worksheets. Data can be linked across worksheets using the indirect activity's ID, which appears as the **activity\_id** column on the Indirect Activity Data and Intervention Channels worksheets and as the **indirect\_activity\_id** column on the Collaborators, Partners, and CRM Partners worksheets.

* **Codebook** — Describes each column in the workbook, lists the filters that were applied, and provides notes about the exported data.
* **Indirect Activity Data** — One row per indirect activity with fields including title, reporting periods, organization, unit, program areas, intervention topics, languages, start and end dates, materials, and timestamps. Some of these columns appear only when they apply to your organization and the records you exported — program areas, intervention topics, and languages are each left out when the organization or the exported activities do not use them, and the action plan columns appear only for Extension users.
* **Intervention Channels** — One row per intervention channel, including the channel name, description, site details, estimated reach, newly reached count, and source of reach data.
* **Collaborators** — One row per collaborator per indirect activity, including the user's name, access level, contributor status, and contribution description.

### Conditional Worksheets

* **Partners** — Included when your organization has the legacy Partnerships section turned on for indirect activities and the exported activities have associated partners. Lists each partner's name, contributions, and linked partnership ID.
* **CRM Partners** — Included when your organization uses partner links on indirect activities and the exported activities have linked partners. Lists each partner's name, contributions, and linked partner ID from the Partners module.
