# Total Duplicate Contacts

Displays the total count of duplicate contacts across program activities.

#### Filters

**Applied Filters**

* **Viewable records** — Only Program Activities the current user has permission to view are included.
* **Sessions counted** — Every session recorded on the program activity counts toward the duplicated total, whether the session was held in person or virtually. When a session date range is set, only sessions that begin within that range are counted.

**Non-Applicable Filters**

* **Indicators** and **File Attachments** — These filters appear in the filter bar but are not honored by this panel. Setting either one clears the total instead of narrowing it.

#### Calculations

1. PEARS retrieves all viewable Program Activities that match the current dashboard filters.
2. For each program, the demographics participant total is multiplied by the number of qualifying session occurrences.
3. The total across all programs is summed to produce a single duplicate contact count.
4. The count is displayed as a large summary number.

#### Additional Notes

* This total represents an estimate of duplicated participant encounters. A participant who attends multiple sessions of the same program or appears in multiple programs is counted once per session per program.
