# PSE Sustainability Mechanisms

Shows the sustainability mechanisms in place across PSE site activities.

#### Location

This panel appears on the following dashboards:

* [SNAP-Ed Dashboard](/analyze/impact-dashboards/snap-ed-dashboard.md)
* [Extension Dashboard](/analyze/impact-dashboards/extension-dashboard.md)

#### Modules Included

* PSE Site Activities (Sustainability data)

#### Filters

**Applied Filters**

* **Viewable records** — Only PSE Site Activities the current user has permission to view are included.

**Non-Applicable Filters**

* **Verified** — The PSE module does not have a verification status field.
* **Session Date Range** — PSE Site Activities do not have session occurrences.
* **Primary Curriculum** — PSE Site Activities do not have a curriculum field.

#### Calculations

1. PEARS retrieves all viewable PSE Site Activities that match the current dashboard filters.
2. The sustainability record attached to each of those PSE Site Activities is examined. PSE records without sustainability data are not counted.
3. Each sustainability mechanism is tallied by its response level: **No Plans to Adopt**, **Plan to Adopt**, **In Process / Partially Adopted**, and **Fully in Place**.
4. A horizontal stacked bar chart is displayed where:
   * Each bar is a sustainability mechanism, listed down the vertical axis.
   * Each stacked segment represents a response level.
   * The segment length represents the count of PSE records with that response for that mechanism, measured along the horizontal axis.

#### Additional Notes

* Sustainability mechanisms represent the long-term structures and practices that support the continuation of PSE changes after the initial effort.
* The chart covers six mechanisms, the last of which is **Other Mechanism**. The **Other Mechanism** bar appears only when PSE records report one.
* The mechanisms are defined by the PEARS system and are not editable through Manage Lists. Their wording differs slightly for Extension organizations, which see "not dependent on your organization" and "other than your organization" in place of the SNAP-Ed wording.
