Directors
Add and manage Extension Unit directors in PEARS.
Directors are staff members who manage Extension Units within your organization. This tool allows administrators to add and manage director assignments, including which user serves as director for each unit and during which time period.
NOTE: Directors is an Extension-only feature.
Getting Started
To access Directors, click the cog icon in the top navigation bar, select Organization Settings, then choose People & Access → Directors. The list view displays all director records for your organization.

List View
The director list displays the following information:
Director — The staff member's name
Extension Unit — The unit they direct
Start Date — When the directorship begins
End Date — When the directorship ends (blank if ongoing)
Filters
Use the filter sidebar to narrow results:
Is Current — Show only active directors (service dates include today)
Unit — Filter by a specific Extension Unit
Add a Director
Click Add Director to create a new record.
Select Director User
Select the staff member from the Director User dropdown. Only active users in your organization are shown. This field is required.
Select Extension Unit
Select the Unit that this person directs. This field is required.
Enter Service Dates
Enter the Start Date for when the directorship begins. Optionally enter an End Date for when it ends.
TIP: The start date must be before the end date. Date ranges cannot overlap with existing director records for the same user and unit.
Save
Click Save to create the director record.
When a director is saved with active dates (start date is in the past and end date is in the future or blank), the system automatically grants the director user Director access permissions. When a director record becomes inactive, the permission is removed.
TIP: When you save a director record, PEARS automatically creates director entries for future reporting periods so the assignment carries forward.
Edit a Director
From the list view, click a director's name to open the edit form. You can update the director user, unit, and dates.
NOTE: Director records cannot be deleted. To end a directorship, set an End Date on the record.
